There was just too much going on! I decided to turn it into a rose garden, with two beds for seasonal planting. My neighbor came by a few weeks ago and taught me all about taking care of my roses. She even pruned them for me.
But all of the recent rain led to a bit of a weed/clover problem! The clover, by the way, is NOT fun to get rid of.
We finally got a weekend without rain. Yesterday my parents and I went to Lowe's to get some supplies and today my mom came down and we set about killing the clover!
While weeding I discovered that one of the pieces of wood that bordered the beds had a nail sticking out of it. Not the best thing when one has an (almost) 3 year old hanging around! So, EG cut the boards and I pulled them all out. Then it was another trip to Lowe's for the edging pieces!
And here is the result of today's labors!
I need to make *another* trip to Lowe's for some more bark and pebbles and we ran out of the edging stuff but all in all I'd say it looks pretty good! It's supposed to rain again this week so I will have to finish it when we dry out again.
I can't wait for my roses to start blooming!!
